The Central Gulf Coast Disc Golf Association (CGCDGA) was founded to unite, strengthen, and grow the sport of disc golf across our region. Born from a deep passion for the game and a commitment to its long-term future, our mission is to anchor disc golf on the Gulf Coast—creating a sustainable, inclusive, and thriving community for generations to come.

Our region is home to a strong, dedicated disc golf community, but we face ongoing challenges: limited funding, inconsistent representation, and uncertainty over course security. Too often, the courses we have built and maintained with our own hands can be altered or removed without notice. In addition, disc golf still battles outdated perceptions that it is a casual pastime rather than a serious and impactful sport.

We know the truth. Disc golf builds community, teaches discipline, promotes healthy lifestyles, and offers opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels. It fosters friendships, strengthens local connections, and contributes real cultural and economic value to the Gulf Coast.

To achieve our vision, CGCDGA is committed to:

• Uniting clubs, players, and communities across the Gulf Coast.

• Developing youth programs that create a clear path for children under 12 to learn and grow in the sport, much like they would in baseball, soccer, or basketball.

• Elevating competition by hosting high-quality PDGA-sanctioned events throughout the region.

• Securing permanent, tournament-grade courses, ideally on private land, to ensure stability beyond shifting public park policies.

• Shaping public perception by showing the world that disc golf is more than a hobby—it’s a sport with real potential, real people, and real value.

Our logo tells our story: an anchor transformed into a disc catcher symbolizes our commitment to grounding disc golf in this region; the pelican represents long flight and resilience; the map and Mardi Gras colors celebrate the identity and culture of the Gulf Coast.
